What is Venmo?

Venmo is a top-notch payment application since it is reliable and easy to use. The application is available both on Android and iOS. With this app, you can quickly send payments and receive money with ease. You can use Venmo to pay your bills or transfer money to your friends and family.

However, Venmo restricted their customers to only those in the United States. Users both need to be in the United States to allow the transfer of money.

How Can You Transfer Your Money From Venmo to Cash App?

Now, let’s talk about the topic you came here for, transferring money from Venmo to Cash App. As mentioned above, there are two methods to do a Venmo-Cash App interaction, but let’s discuss it individually. [As a note, we also started using a company called Step, which is banking for teens. If you’d like you can read my review here].

Set up a direct deposit for your Cash App account.

A Cash App account may act as another bank account as long as you link it to the original one. To set-up the direct deposit, you must find the account and routing numbers of your Cash App account. That will be an easy step if you already ordered your Cash Card connected to your Cash App account. However, if you don’t have one, a list of steps is prepared below for you to follow.

Transferring your Money between Venmo and Cash App

Since you now linked your Cash App with your Venmo, you can directly deposit your money from your cash-app account balance.

2. Verify that bank account through the methods provided.

  • And then press the “Transfer Money” button or the “Transfer to Bank” one.

Choose whether the transaction will be that through your bank account or debit card. Make sure to review and then confirm.

Once you’ve done a thorough review and sure about the transaction, tap the “Transfer” button to implement the actions.

After that process, you then need to switch to your Cash App.

Add the Transferred Balance to your Cash App

If the process successfully transferred the money to your bank account, you will need to switch over to your Cash App and add the desired balance. To do that, follow the instruction written below:

On the home interface of the Cash App, tap the Balance Tab. And then select Add Cash.

Enter the desired amount that you want to add to your balance, and then tap the “Add” button.

To verify and confirm your actions, use the Touch ID feature or your Pin.

Ensure you linked your Cash App and Venmo to a mutual bank, or the transfer of balance will not work.

What’s the Maximum Amount that You can Transfer?

Typically, an unverified account only allows up to $299.99 amount of the transfer. However, that amount will increase to a $2,999.99 transaction amount per week once you have verified your identity. To do that, follow these simple steps:

Press the “Three Layers of Horizontal Lines” at the top of the interface. Then tap the “Settings,” and then press the “Identity Verification.”

Verification requires you to submit the following information:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Social Security Number
  • Zip Code
  • Birthdate

Does Venmo charge you for the transactions?

Just like other payment applications, Venmo applies charges with each service you use.

For example, depositing your credit card’s balance will have Venmo charge 3% of the amount. However, for instant transactions, Venmo will charge you 1% or 25 cents from the amount.

Furthermore, Venmo is kind enough to charge you when you buy things online with Venmo payment available, even when using your credit card.

Transferring money from Venmo to Cash App requires linking your Cash App to your Venmo or having both associated with a mutual bank account. Also, for every transaction you have, Venmo will charge you for your service, unless you are using the app to buy something online.
