The Top 9 Squarespace Alternatives

Squarespace is an excellent option for many folks, but it’s a bit pricey and limited in its capabilities. So in this post, I present the best Squarespace alternatives that are worth checking out.

With so many website hosts and builders out there, choosing one can get pretty confusing. I hope this article sheds some light on what alternative best suits your needs.

Let’s get to it!

Shopify

Shopify Squarespace Alternatives

Shopify is a fantastic platform for creating an online business. It offers a variety of website designs and applications, analytics, integrations, and a support forum. It also allows integration with the best e-commerce theme Debutify.

Shopify runs online stores for mom and pop beginners up to $100 million companies. It’s worth it in the long run, especially if you’re a smaller seller. You won’t have to worry about upgrading your WordPress plugins, themes, or managing your website. You can even work with a supplier like Spocket to help you launch a dropshipping business.

It would be pointless to utilize this tool to create a different type of website. However, if you want to create an internet business, it’s a fantastic alternative.

Another great platform for creating an online store is Sellfy.

Wix

Wix

Apart from Squarespace, Wix stands out as one of the most user-friendly website builders available. A drag-and-drop website builder, hosting choices, an app market, website themes, and eCommerce capabilities are all available through the service.

If you’re just getting started and don’t know much about coding, Wix is a wonderful choice. Finally, if you’re serious about starting an online business, I think it’s a good idea to master the WordPress platform. Otherwise, put up a Shopify site with a Debutify theme if you’re doing eCommerce.

If your website is intended to serve as an extension of your current business, where clients can learn more about you, Wix is a match. Building your own website ranges from $10 to $25 each month.

Weebly

Weebly Squarespace Alternatives

Weebly is another Squarespace competitor that has many features with Wix, such as a drag-and-drop website builder, a large selection of website templates, and the option to create a blog or an eCommerce store.

Because of the similarities to Wix, I believe that deciding between the two will come down to whose ecosystem’s themes you like, the simplicity of use of the website builder, and the customer care services and how well they meet your needs. They’re so similar it’s scary, but it of course makes our list of Squarespace alternatives.

The cost ranges from free to $25 per month. You may use your own domain name, get statistics, utilize HD video and music players, have password-protected sites, and more with higher pricing tiers.

WordPress

WordPress

We’ll focus on more drag-and-drop and simple-to-use website-building tools in the rest of the post, but first, I’d like to highlight the WordPress platform, which I believe is one of the best platforms out there if you’re willing to learn a bit of how a website works and want the most bang for your buck.

Ok, so this one seems more complicated at first, but it’s actually the most affordable and most customizable in the long run.

Building a blog with WordPress is what I recommend if you’re serious about growing an online business (and it’s what I’ve built this blog with).

You just need to get hosting with a company like Bluehost or WPX and then snag a theme like Divi.

The nice thing about WordPress is that there are so many free online themes, plugins, a helpful support community, and professional paid website themes to choose from. It’s simpler than ever to create a professional-looking website in a matter of hours, whether it’s an eCommerce store or a portfolio.

So yes, this platform is free, but some website-building knowledge is necessary!

Webs

Webs Squarespace Alternatives

If you want to create a website, Webs makes it simple to do so by allowing you to pick from a choice of themes organized by business industries, as well as free and paid designs.

Like the other website builders described in this post, websites have mobile-friendly themes and a drag-and-drop interface.

Webs also include features like an eCommerce store, HD video storage, the option to create a basic membership website, and blogging capabilities. Whether you choose Webs, Wix, Virb, or Voog,

I think your decision will be based on your personal preferences for themes and the sort of website you want to create.

The cost of Web’s services starts at $6 per month and increases to $23 per month.

Voog

Voog

“A mess-free platform that enables you to develop great websites with a creative flow” is how Voog describes its services.

Overall, the site appears to be highly user-friendly and provides examples of how the theme you select for your website would appear on the Web and on mobile devices. I wish there were more themes available, but the available ones look fantastic. It would be one of my lower recommendations on our Squarespace alternatives list.

Virb

Virb - Squarespace Alternatives

Virb had a great start and still offers several appealing features and website designs. Still, after being acquired by GoDaddy, it has received some negative criticism in the website building community.

So, why is Virb suddenly a two-star character? GoDaddy purchased Virb in 2014. Since the acquisition, it’s become evident that Virb isn’t actively developed—just it’s being maintained.

It’s worth a look, but I’m concerned about the lack of continuous progress if you’re seeking a long-term partner that will host your website in the future. Virb’s monthly cost is $10.

GoDaddy purchased this company and most likely just acquired its customer base.

Unbounce

Unbounce

Unbounce is a great one, despite the fact that it’s used to create specific sorts of websites. It’s ideal for creating landing pages or basic websites that describe your company’s services.

Unbounce emphasizes how simple it is to use their A|B testing functionality, which is a marketer’s dream!

Where other website builders emphasize their mobile-optimized themes, social integration, and eCommerce store functionality, Unbounce emphasizes how easy it is to use their A|B testing functionality, which is a marketer’s dream!

In case you’re not familiar with it, A|B testing is when you present various versions of the same page to a potential consumer in order to make a data-driven conclusion about which converts better, such as whether phrasing or layout leads more visitors to sign up for an email list or purchase your product.

Prices start at $50 per month and go up to $199 per month. If you’re looking for alternative ways to measure conversions or “create your sales funnel,” I recommend looking into LeadPages or ClickFunnels, two popular landing page builders. You need a basic understanding of WordPress to use.

Also, check Appsumo, to get lifetime discounted deals on funnel builders like WPFunnels, etc.

LaunchRock

LaunchRock

LaunchRock is arguably the most straightforward website builder for quickly creating a landing or “coming soon” page to collect email addresses. It makes our Squarespace alternatives list.

It offers a highly user-friendly free version. The premium version is $5 a month and includes using a custom domain, changing the CSS and HTML of the website, and removing the LaunchRock logo.

Final Thoughts

I don’t believe there is a “best” tool out there. Instead, there is one that is best suited to your company’s requirements. If you are selling a product I think Shopify is the best eCommerce solution available.
Customer acquisition can be increased by using tools like Outgrow.

Outgrow has a dedicated chatbot and quiz setup for e-commerce leads as well.

If you’re creating a content website, it depends on what your long-term goals are. But this is our list of Squarespace alternatives. I’d love to learn what kind of website you want to create and see what you choose!
