First off, what is remote work? It’s the kind of working style that lets people work outside of an office setting and in any location. So instead of commuting every day to and from work, you get to work at home and at your pace. That sounds like a good idea, right?
Well, it’s been more of a necessity as of late. Because of the pandemic, many people have switched to remote work, which allows them more flexibility in their schedules and choosing where they should live.
There are plenty of benefits from working remotely. The main one is, of course, not stressing over your daily commute (which is #9 in our ‘Getting Stuff Done’ article). You also get to save a bit more money. No more eating out. No more transportation fees. You get to customize your home office, which will likely increase your productivity.
Overall, most people achieve a better work-life balance with remote work. That said, if working doesn’t rely on location anymore, where should you live?
In this article, we looked at a number of factors for cities in the South and the following made our list (we placed the cities in alphabetical order since all that made the cut were great). Our list looks a bit different than Southern Living’s, as we only looked at the Deep South and we had a population threshold.

Alafaya, Florida
Alafaya is a quiet moderately-sized suburb of Orlando. It’s a city that tends to lean a little liberal. The population is mostly families and young professionals. Many students also decide to live around the neighborhood because the University of Central Florida is nearby. Speaking of education, the public schools in Alafaya are above average, making it ideal if you’re moving with kids.
Alafaya is generally a calming place to live and work in, full of greenery and lakes around. The crime rate is relatively low, and most people own their homes. The local amenities are top-notch in Alafaya. You’d have everything you could need – from grocery stores to libraries.
Albany, Georgia
A great city to work remotely, Albany is in Dougherty County. Right now, it’s a buzzing place for real estate because of the slow-paced, calming nature of the area. It’s also quite contemporary and affordable, perfect for those venturing out of their childhood homes. The commute times in Albany are exceptional. No one gets stuck in traffic here.
There are plenty of parks and coffee shops around, and the beautiful Radium Springs is nearby. There is also a zoo and an aquarium if activities for children is one of your concerns. Sure, Albany has its fair share of problems, but they don’t call it “Good Life City” for nothing.
Athens, Georgia
Athens is in Clarke County. It has a mix of affordable and expensive neighborhoods but is generally considered a college town. The University of Georgia is nearby, so the demographic of this city is mainly 18-34-year-olds. It’s culturally rich, complete with an impressive library, Botanical Gardens, GA Museum of Art, and Lyndon House Arts Center. It’s also home to the famous “Tree That Owns Itself.”
Athens doesn’t feel like a small town, and the Downtown is buzzing with nightlife. There is a good selection of restaurants too. Overall, Athens is an up-and-coming scenic city that’s perfect for visiting and living in. There is a strong sense of community, and newcomers are met with friendliness and positivity. A great addition to our list of cities to work remotely in.

Auburn, Alabama
A lot of people describe Auburn as a city in its own little bubble. Despite being amidst bigger cities, it retains the quality of a cozy, close-knit town. Even though it has a laid-back vibe, the school system in Auburn is impressive, and there are many progressive-minded folks around.
It’s quite an affordable city, and many students rent to live there to live close to Auburn University, a reputable educational institution. The locals are very welcoming, and there isn’t a shortage of job opportunities. The city can feel a bit busy during normal semester times, but it usually gets calmer during breaks when it gets its rustic feel again.
Bossier City, Louisiana
Bossier City is in Bossier Parish, close to Shreveport. Housing there is much more affordable than in the rest of the country. Bossier is popular for its Brew Festival in October and the yearly Holiday in Dixie Carnival every April. Something about Bossier is so comforting and inviting. The city is steeped in culture and has that famous southern hospitality that everyone knows about.
The city has grown tremendously over the past couple of years. Many would consider it the happy medium between urban and southern living. Overall, it’s a small, safe town with not much nightlife. There are plenty of parks to enjoy during the daytime, though.
Brandon, Florida
Brandon is a suburb of Tampa in Hillsborough County and another one of our top cities to work remotely in. If you love the energy of Tampa proper but would like to live in a quieter, more laid-back area, Brandon is your best bet. It’s affectionately called the “city within a city” because it has everything you might need without the hectic feel of a real urban setting.
Brandon is mostly family-oriented, full of dining and shopping options for everyone in the household. You can even ice skate, roller skate, and visit the many parks and playgrounds if you have kids. Housing is pretty affordable, and everything is conveniently close by.
Cape Coral, Florida
Cape Coral City is in Lee County and has more canals than any city in the world, including Venice. It’s a peaceful place to live, perfect for starter families and retirees. It’s one of the more distinct cities in Florida, with its diverse ethnic population and a wide variety of excellent authentic restaurants.
Cape Coral has good land value, so it’s a good investment to live there. It still has a lot of potential to grow, unlike the surrounding cities where housing is getting really expensive. The residents are warm and polite. Why wouldn’t they be in a good mood all the time when they live so close to the beach?
Clearwater, Florida
Clearwater in Pinellas County has a family-friendly atmosphere. It’s close to many beaches and is ranked 2 out of 228 in the best cities to retire in America. If you want peace, quiet, not much activity, and an almost nonexistent crime rate, you might want to check out Clearwater.
Many residents say that living in Clearwater feels like a permanent vacation, which is not a bad thing at all. If you’re going to work remotely, it might as well be 20 minutes away from some beaches. The overall cost of living in Clearwater is quite average, with the exception of some fancy areas.
Columbus, Georgia
Columbus is in Muscogee County. It’s a beautiful, charming city right next to the Chattahoochee River. In fact, you can see Alabama right across. It’s quite picturesque, with its many walking paths, a riverwalk, and a little downtown with a decent nightlife and a weekly market.
While this might sound idyllic for those who want to slow down, Columbus actually offers many opportunities for young people looking to get started. It’s a lot bigger than you think it is because it doesn’t overwhelm, and it feels safe. Uptown has a very hip yet historic feel, boasting one of the best Opera houses in the region.
Coral Springs, Florida
Coral Springs is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. It’s a clean, wholesome area where you can enjoy warm weather all year round. On Sundays, there’s a local farmers’ market to buy fresh local produce. Law enforcement in Coral Springs is superb. The local police are always around, helping out folks and protecting them.
There are a lot of parks, public pools, shops, and restaurants. The residents are tidy and amiable, creating an ideal atmosphere for families, retirees, and young people looking to start their careers. The businesses of Coral Springs have been expanding in recent years, adding more activity to this otherwise tranquil city. It’s another on the list of cities to work remotely in.
Davie, Florida
Some people don’t appreciate the hustle and bustle of a big city. Davie might be the antithesis of Miami despite being so close by. It’s a quiet neighborhood where houses have spacious yards and friendly neighbors. The area is quite diverse, and there are plenty of cool facilities like the rodeo and skate rink.
There’s still a lot of old infrastructures left in Davie, which is rare in South Florida. Christmastime is particularly beautiful in Davie because, every year, they make it a point to put up decorations.
Overall, Davie is one of the best cities to live in in Florida. It retains that dense suburban feel, all while having modern amenities like restaurants and coffee shops. It also has easy access to highways for in-state travel.
Decatur, Alabama
Nicknamed “The River City,” Decatur is part of the Morgan and Limestone counties. The city is pretty relaxed, but there are plenty of job opportunities in the area. Full of southern charm and tight-knit families, it’s the ideal place to live if you’re looking for a continuously growing community.
There are plenty of attractions in Decatur, including Point Mallard Park, the Historic District, Delano Park, Cook Museum of Natural Science, and the Princess Theatre. Best of all, all of these places are close to the neighborhoods. Many festivals are also held in Decatur, including the Hot Air Balloon Jubilee and the Daikin Festival.
Deltona, Florida
Deltona is a city in Volusia County, inhabited by those mostly 35 and above. It’s a clean and peaceful suburban area that always seems to be improving. There’s virtually no industry or nightlife in Deltona, so it’s perfect for those looking for some peace and quiet.
Many people consider this the perfect spot in Florida because it’s nestled between the busy tourism of Orlando and the tranquil beaches of Daytona Beach. Aside from the beautiful weather, housing in Deltona is fairly affordable, which is why it attracts many retirees. Younger folks who want to escape their fast-paced lives can also get in on the calm.
Dothan, Alabama
Dothan is part of Houston County. It’s a great representation of what it’s like to live in the South. There’s art, music, festivals, friends, and a solid church community. The property taxes are also fairly low. If you live in Dothan, you’d be within three hours of major cities and beaches, which isn’t bad if you like going on occasional road trips for recreation.
It’s a great place for young professionals and young families because of the warm atmosphere and the availability of fresh local produce. Dothan residents are proud of their food offerings and the annual National Peanut Festival, which is a total blast. Overall, Dothan is small, but it’s a historically rich and loving community.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Fort Lauderdale in Broward County is known for its weather and vacation-like atmosphere. Residents say it’s the less busy sister of Miami, with the same sugary sands and crystal clear waters. It’s much less of a party city and more of a family-oriented one.
Fort Lauderdale’s demographic is quite diverse, and you’ll meet people from all walks of life. Aside from the beaches, there are tons of places to explore like the Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, the Riverwalk, Stranahan House, the Antique Car Museum, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and the NSU Art Museum. This city has a lot of culture and character; anyone would be thrilled to visit or live there.
Gulfport, Mississippi
Gulfport is a pretty coastal Southern town in Harrison County. Luckier folks get to live in waterfront properties where the views are beautiful. Gulfport doesn’t use its location as an asset for tourism, which means it’s still quiet and a little sleepy.
Downtown Gulfport offers a lot in terms of adult entertainment. There are clubs, bars, and restaurants that make up a decent nightlife. Even though Gulfport is only 1% rural, a lot of areas still embrace natural elements, so it doesn’t feel like a big city, even if it is.
The city has made vast improvements in the past couple of years and established itself as a center for technology and industry in Mississippi.
Huntsville, Alabama
Huntsville is a beautiful green community in Madison County. Nature lovers will especially love this city because of its many camping sites, hiking trails, gardens, caves, and creeks. Residents of Huntsville even had an easier time during the pandemic because they can explore the great outdoors without running into anyone. Nature in Huntsville is that vast.
Most places in Alabama have cultural diversity, history, and enviable local cuisines. Huntsville, in particular, is a great city for young professionals. With the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in town, as well as a military base, there are plenty of employment opportunities. The cost of living is relatively low, and there are plenty of avenues that support a simple and wholesome lifestyle.
Jackson, Mississippi
Jackson in Hinds County has a lot to offer in terms of art and architecture. There, you can find the impressive Mississippi State Capitol and Museum, the Civil Rights Museum, Governor’s Mansion, and Museum of Art.
The house that Eudora Welty, the famous writer, used to live in is now open for visitors as a museum.
Jackson has unique restaurants and boutiques, and the community has many holiday activities that bring the residents together throughout the year. The roads could be better in Jackson, but the residents of this city are resilient and friendly.
Jackson has room for improvement, but it has the makings of a great city. It has so much character, but of course, like any city, it has to be updated.
Johns Creek, Georgia
Johns Creek is a mostly upper-middle to an upper-class suburb in Fulton County. It’s a safe place to live, with a particular emphasis on academic and financial success. There are plenty of good schools, and the population is quite diverse.
Driving in Johns Creek is a pleasant necessity. The place is rather idyllic and certainly looks like the perfect backdrop for raising a family. There are so many parks, including the expansive Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center.
As far as amenities, shops, and activity centers are near the neighborhoods and are easy to access by car. There is a good number of upscale restaurants like the famous Trattoria One and Pampas.
Kenner, Louisiana
If you want to live in a low-key version of New Orleans, Kenner in Jefferson Parish is worth checking out. It’s quite a homey city that has gone through many beautification projects, and it shows. Aside from the usual city staples like stores, restaurants, and activity centers, Kenner has its own boat launch.
Although not as energetic as New Orleans, Kenner retains that close-knit, warm southern atmosphere that unmistakably feels like home, complete with amiable neighbors and running grounds.

Lafayette, Louisiana
Lafayette is a hub for Cajun culture. The city’s atmosphere is pretty laid-back, and the residents are community-oriented. You can go to Vermilionville and Acadian Village, both historic walking areas that show the story and beauty of Lafayette.
The main pride of this city is its cuisine. There are fine dining restaurants and secret hole-in-the-wall local favorites. Mardi Gras in Lafayette is super fun, and there are plenty of other festivals held throughout the year.
Lafayette continues to improve and keep up with modern times, all while keeping the great Southern traditions and world views. After all, Lafayette is affectionately dubbed the “The Happiest City In America.”
Lake Charles, Louisiana
Lake Charles is a town in Calcasieu Parish. It’s still recovering from being hit pretty hard by Hurricane Laura, then Hurricane Delta. That being said, the job market in Lake Charles is now incredible, and the police force is putting in great effort to secure the city as it rebuilds itself.
Because this city is pretty small, the residents have close ties and a strong sense of community. It’s not the most exciting when it comes to nightlife, but it has some of the best schools in the country.
Economists say that Lake Charles is still in its “awkward” phase as a city. Like a teenager, it’s experiencing some growing pains and is finding its identity. It holds a lot of potential for young professionals.
Lakeland, Florida
Lakeland is in Polk County, and it’s about an hour from the beach. Also known as Swan City, Lakeland is an up-and-coming area with an eclectic variety of restaurants, shops, and cafes. It has all the amenities of city living but still retains the qualities of a small community.
It has a lot of small bodies of water (hence Lakeland) and not much to do except shop, bowl, roller skate, and go to the movies. Life here is pretty slow-paced, but a lot of people prefer that to a hectic big city experience.
Lakeland is also considered a college town because Polk State College and Keiser University are in the area.
Lehigh Acres, Florida
Lehigh Acres is in Lee County. It has the perfect balance of not being too crowded or too isolated. Lehigh depends heavily on its neighboring cities for recreation and entertainment. That being said, it will only be a short drive going somewhere anyway.
There are a few attractions like Veterans Park, Lehigh Acres Trailhead Park, a bowling alley, a few bars, and a bunch of mom and pop shops. The city is still growing, so it’s best to take advantage of its affordable property values right now. New businesses are popping up and here and there, making slow yet steady improvements to the city’s economy.
Macon, Georgia
Macon is a sprawling diversified city. There are many areas in Macon, like Downtown, that are well-maintained. Some people say that living in Macon is like getting a taste of Atlanta without the noise and traffic.
There are enough local amenities for shopping and entertainment, so you don’t have to drive very far. In the past, Macon got a lot of backlash for its crime rate, but the city has since made major strides to resolve these issues.
Overall, Macon is a great up-and-coming city, and its improvements are hard to ignore. However, it has to be said that those who want to move to Macon have to be true go-getters.
Metairie, Louisiana
A lot of people who want to relocate have their eye on Metairie in Jefferson Parish. It’s like living in New Orleans without the flooding and the rising property taxes. Metairie is mostly a quiet area with a lot of good schools and parks.
It’s a fantastic place to work remotely and to raise children within a warm community. There is no shortage of things to do, and there are diverse culinary options. It’s also worth noting that Metairie has state-of-the-art medical facilities.
The quality of life is good in Metairie, and it still has a fairly stable economy despite the pandemic. It’s also very close to New Orleans if you want to get in on what’s happening there.
Miramar, Florida
Miramar is in southwest Broward County. It’s an ideal location for those who value a quiet suburban lifestyle but would also like the occasional excitement from Miami and Fort Lauderdale, which are both close by.
The infrastructure in Miramar is very modern, and the surroundings are clean and well-kept. Business is still booming in this city as there are many restaurants, services, and recreational facilities to patronize.
Because of its pristine environment, the walkability of Miramar is top-notch. Its population is very diverse, and it’s certainly a place to make friends. The neighborhoods are very harmonious, and there is a solid sense of camaraderie.
Mobile, Alabama
Mobile, also known as the “City of Six Flags,” is a unique place with amazing architecture. Each district of Mobile has its own character, but all have that sought-after Southern charm. Full of soul, Mobile is steeped in history and culture. In fact, Mardi Gras originated in this city, not New Orleans.
Best of all, the city is right next to Mobile Bay, making it a great place to get fresh seafood. Going to the beach is also super convenient for Mobilians because Gulf Shores and Pensacola are only about an hour away.
The warm and infectious energy of Mobile is almost palpable. This city is definitely worth visiting or living in.

Palm Bay, Florida
Palm Bay in Brevard County is an ever-evolving city. Right now, it’s a laid-back area with affordable living prices. The weather is always amazing, which is ideal because the city is so close to the beaches.
Many people are moving to Palm Bay because of its peaceful outdoor life. The city has also grown in terms of its economy. In the past couple of years, numerous stores, utilities, and plazas have been built. The change was pretty drastic and rapid.
As for its residents, Palm Bay’s population is incredibly diverse. Different ethnicities, languages, and beliefs all meld together, forming a tight-knit community. It’s a great place to relocate, put down roots, and thrive.
Plantation, Florida
Plantation is a city in Broward County. It’s a clean, safe, well-lit area full of parks, restaurants, and shops. There’s virtually no traffic in Plantation, and it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Miami.
Plantation prides itself on being an all-inclusive city, providing many opportunities for employment and residence. The suburban life, which is what you’ll get in Plantation, is almost picture-perfect. There are trees lining and shading the street, and the weather is warm all year round.
The neighborhoods are quiet, but Plantation’s Downtown is thriving with nightlife. The beaches are also 15 minutes away if you ever need to decompress for a while.
Pompano Beach, Florida
Pompano Beach is a famed tourist destination because of its stunning shores. It’s a melting pot city where a lot of cultures all meld in harmony. What better way to celebrate culture than through food? Pompano Beach has a wide variety of food options, and authentic cuisines are always available.
There are plenty of facilities for the residents to enjoy, like athletic fields, waterfront parks, playgrounds, and libraries. Recently, there has been a lot of construction to improve these facilities. Less developed neighborhoods are also undergoing major changes.
Overall, Pompano Beach is a vibrant city in South Florida, and it has many job opportunities. It’s great to see how much potential it has and what the residents are doing to fulfill it.
Port St. Lucie, Florida
Port St. Lucie is a secure and accepting community. There are many job opportunities there, mostly in the medical field. All around, Port St. Lucie has beautiful natural scenery. The city uses a lot of its resources to keep the environment updated, polished, and vibrant.
Getting around in Port St. Lucie is breezy. They have excellent transportation systems in place, so it’s not a problem if you don’t have a car. Despite being modern, PSL retains its small-town feel even though it’s close to major cities too.
There’s always something going on in Port St. Lucie because the community is very active. There are always artistic and outdoorsy projects to join, and it’s easy to make friends.
Riverview, Florida
Riverview is in Hillsborough County. It’s a little bit better than your standard city because its public and emergency services are always reliable. There are many great businesses to patronize in Riverview, including some quaint cafes and restaurants. The nightlife is decent, and it never gets too crowded.
Riverview’s surroundings are meticulously landscaped. The real estate is reasonably priced, which attracts many young professionals and young families. Riverview used to be considered a farming community, but now it’s ideal family-oriented suburbia.
Alafia River runs through Riverview, making the area idyllic and serene. There is also an opportunity to get closer to nature by visiting the Alafia Scrub Nature Preserve.
Roswell, Georgia
Roswell is Fulton County hits the perfect balance of rural and urban. Jobs are abundant in this city, and it’s developed enough to not need to go to Atlanta or Marta. There are hills and trees in Roswell, making the atmosphere more peaceful than a regular city.
Downtown Roswell is making a bit of a buzz these days and has become a destination for its nightlife, specialty restaurants, and breweries. As for outdoor recreation, you can take hikes at the Roswell Mill, mountain bike at Big Creek greenway, and go tubing down the Chattahoochee River.
Roswell has that special old-timey vibe that makes you want to explore it more and more. The residents also throw plenty of events and activities and encourage everyone to participate.
Sandy Springs, Georgia
Sandy Springs is about 5-10 minutes away from Atlanta. It has easy access to freeways, and there’s never any traffic. Visiting or moving to Sandy Springs will be a pleasant experience. The community there is diverse and welcoming, and there’s a lot of greenery all over the place.
You’ll find everything you need in Sandy Springs. There are schools, restaurants, malls, shops, and hospitals in the area. The parks and playgrounds have lots of trees, and the neighborhoods are generally quiet. The festivals held during the spring and summer are kid-friendly too.
Nightlife is negligible in Sandy Springs, but that’s okay because its neighboring cities make up for it.
Savannah, Georgia
Savannah is a beautiful coastal city in Chatham County. Its historic architecture is truly something to marvel at, and the streets are very walkable. It takes only a 15-minute drive to reach the beach to take advantage of warmer days.
Savannah is so beautiful that movies and TV shows often film in town, so you may run into a celebrity or two. Every year, there are also many fun events and activities that residents look forward to. If you happen to visit Savannah at its peak times, you might catch awesome live music Downtown and chow down on food truck fare.
The people are really nice, progressive, and welcoming to newcomers. Savannah is truly one of America’s unique cities. Many people want to move there, and it’s not hard to see why.
Shreveport, Louisiana
Shreveport in Caddo Parish is a city with a lot of potential. Its population is wildly diverse, from the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. Sure, Shreveport has some room for improvement, but it has the tools to succeed.
The scenery is gorgeous, especially in the more rural parts of Shreveport. You’ll find wild animals there, like deer, coyotes, and horses.
In the more active parts of the city, business is booming. There are a lot of charming restaurants and shops. There are also many talented artists who live in the city and keep the art scene alive. Most importantly, Shreveport is a historic city with a community rooted in generational families.
South Fulton, Georgia
South Filton is Atlanta’s new twin city and has an average median income higher than Chicago. Many prominent folks come from South Fulton, including John Lewis, Kandi Burruss, 2 Chainz, Marquis Grissom, and Cam Newton.
With many Fortune 500 companies in Fulton County come greater opportunities for growth. It’s a great place to start your career as a younger or middle-aged person. South Fulton has improved a lot over the past few years, and the city is not as crime-ridden as it is rumored to be. In fact, it’s very peaceful and quiet.
If you’re looking for a place where neighbors look out for one another, South Fulton is worth exploring. Many new homes are being built in the area as it continues to go in the right direction.
Southaven, Mississippi
Southaven in DeSoto County is a food city. They have all sorts of food offerings, from Asian cuisine to Memphis-style barbecue. There are also many avenues to make healthier choices, like vegan restaurants, fitness centers, and gyms.
There is a fire station and hospital within the city, and Memphis is nearby. The school system is excellent, and the local government is responsive and responsible. There are plenty of job opportunities in the area, so it’s a great place to lay roots or start a career.
The housing market is also really affordable right now because Southaven is establishing itself as a mainly residential area. If you need an active nightlife, it’s a good thing that Memphis is just next door.
Spring Hill, Florida
Spring Hill is in Hernando County. It’s about 40 minutes away from Tampa, but it has a little bit of everything for your convenience. You have your typical chain stores, restaurants, supermarkets, and mom & pop shops around. If you’re an active person, a lot of people enjoy going on trails and kayaking in Spring Hill.
Job opportunities are high, leaning towards those who have tech-related degrees. Spring Hill is not a busy city, but that’s only because it’s safe and quiet. The residents tend to keep to themselves, and not much goes on.
If you value a more laid-back kind of lifestyle, Spring Hill might be the best choice for you. Housing in the city is quite affordable, so a lot of young families start out here.
Sunrise, Florida
Sunrise is a great city to live, work, and raise a family. Sunrise’s local government is so efficient that it helped a lot of people pay rent throughout the pandemic. It’s a lovely city with great parks and recreational areas, and commuting within it is easy.
Most residents and a lot of tourists go to Sawgrass Mall to shop, eat, get their entertainment. These individuals make up a lively and vibrant community that supports one another. The community also hosts a variety of family events every month, making it easier to connect with the people around you.
The streets are clean and well-maintained in Sunrise. Everyone has a positive outlook, and it is reflected in the city’s atmosphere and name.
Warner Robins, Georgia
Warner Robins is in Houston County. It’s right smack dab in the middle of Georgia, which means it’s a day’s drive to reach beaches, mountains, and Disney World. However, there are restaurants, shops, and a great waterpark within the city.
Warner Robins is quite unusual for a Georgian city because it evolved around the Robins Air Force Base. People from all sorts of backgrounds have come together to make this city what it is today. No one would call Warner Robins a party city, but it makes up for it in comfort, peace, and security.
This city has grown so much in the past decade, and it continues to attract new visitors and residents.
West Palm Beach, Florida
West Palm Beach is not only a great tourist destination but also a great place to live in too. As you can tell from the name, many residences are right by the water or just a very short distance away from the beach.
There are plenty of commercial places to dine, shop, and stay entertained. There’s a zoo, a museum, and a bunch of art galleries around too.
The community is very tight, and residents support each other by patronizing each other’s locally owned establishments. Although many might say that West Palm Beach is for the retired and the young, it’s also a great city to thrive in as an adult.
The population is diverse, and there are so many food options to sample. Whether you just want to work at home or have a lazy day at the beach, West Palm Beach makes it all possible for you.

That’s a lot of cities and a lot more research to do. When location doesn’t matter because you can work from anywhere, wouldn’t it be better if you were 15 minutes away from the mountains?
If you don’t plan on moving, vacationing also doesn’t mean that your job is at a standstill. You can take your laptop on your next beach trip and not lose any days of work.
These cities in the South have a lot to offer their visitors and residents. Each has its unique atmosphere and advantages. Maybe one is beckoning louder to you than the others.
