Is Survey Junkie Legit? & Can You Really Make Money?

Is Survey Junkie safe?

Is Survey Junkie legit?

These are the main two questions that I’ve seen asked, and I want to answer them for you today.

Is Survey Junkie Safe and Legit?

If you’re like me, the name itself throws you off a bit — Survey Junkie??

But if you do a bit of research, you will see that they are a part of a much larger organization.

Maybe you heard about Survey Junkie, but you weren’t sure if it was safe and if your information was protected.

If you are skeptical, we understand, but we’ll go through concerns that you might have to decide for yourself.

Heck, I even spent 60 minutes straight testing surveys so that you can see for yourself if Survey Junkie is legit or not! Watch below or view it on YouTube.

What is Survey Junkie?

Survey Junkie began in California in 2013 as a company that performed online market research.

It was started by DISQO, a company that is now named Blue Media Ventures.

Survey Junkie has had success in the online surveys market and has plenty of happy customers.

They have a solid name for themselves in the survey space.

Other sites include Inbox Dollars, My Points. , and Swagbucks.

How does Survey Junkie work?

You earn points with Survey Junkie by completing surveys and registration is free.

You must live in the US, Canada, or Australia to join.

The surveys can pay from $2 to $75. The more involved or detailed it is, the more you will be paid. Which of course, is logical.

There is also the opportunity to join focus groups, and those usually pay more.

Sometimes companies also ask for users to test their products, so that is also a potential opportunity.

The good news is that even if you don’t qualify for a survey, you still get some credit.

This is fair because it can take a long time to fill out the information for a survey to find out if you qualify or not.

Which business model do they use?

Survey Junkie partners with companies who need to collect data from users and potential customers.

Survey Junkie has a community of people ready to assist with the requested information.

The companies pay Survey Junkie to be the facilitator and help gather the data for the companies.

Survey Junkie is using a portion of this revenue to reward those that take surveys.

How do you get paid from Survey Junkie?

There is a minimum payout amount of $10. But once you reach it you can request a payout either via PayPal or gift cards.

How Does the Points System Work?

Survey Junkie rewards you with points instead of cash.

This may be to make the payout amount less clear. But it is also most likely more manageable for them to manage a point system.

Every 100 points is a dollar. So each point is equal to a penny.

They may use a point system because points seem to have more value.

The good news is that you only have to have $10 (1,000 points) earned to get a payout.

You’ll be able to get cash sent to PayPal or gift cards to retailers like Amazon, Target, or Walmart.

Is Survey Junkie Legit?

Definitely. Survey Junkie has more than 3 million users and is a legitimate survey site that does pay its users. If you are looking to make a few bucks, it might be a decent fit for you.

If you are looking to make real money, I recommend that you start a hustle.

Is Survey Junkie safe?

Yep. Survey Junkie is safe. There are plenty of survey sites that seem less than legit, but Survey Junkie is one of the top survey companies alongside InboxDollars, My Points, and Swagbucks.

Their site is secure with an SSL certificate.

They have a solid rating with the BBB.

And even though the payments are low, they reliably pay.

Final Survey Junkie Thoughts

You should feel confident that Survey Junkie is safe and legit.

But you also probably are confident that you won’t get rich by filling out surveys and that it’s not something you can do full-time.

Better keep that day job or start another side hustle asap.

The advantages are that it’s easy to sign up and get going with surveys so that you can earn points and cash.

The disadvantage is that the pay isn’t all that great.

I don’t think that survey sites like Survey Junkie are worth it, but if you want to give it a shot, go for it.

Your time is better spent on developing a hustle or investing your time learning a new skill or getting further educated.

Disclaimer: While survey companies have been around for a long time, they’re definitely not the best way to make money. You will make a very low hourly rate (I did a test to see how many I could do in 60 minutes – watch it here). In my opinion, they only make sense if you have tons of free time and just like filling out forms.
